P5–P7 | Pirrie Park Training Session
Despite a late change of plan with our fixture v Malone unfortunately cancelled, the P5–P7 squad made the most of the morning with a high-quality training session on grass at Pirrie Park.
A big thank you to the parents for sticking with us through all the last-minute changes — we cannot wait to see this group put it all together in a match very soon 🤞

Coaching the Coaches – Banbridge RFC
Earlier this morning, Cooke were also represented at the Coaching the Coaches session hosted by Banbridge RFC, with two Cooke coaches in attendance. A really valuable session focused on sharing best practice, developing coaching approaches and raising standards across the game — learning that feeds directly back into the experience we can offer our players each week.

The P7s headed home tired, hungry and very satisfied after a really positive session. It has been a stop-start season so far — SEAG, Open Days, results days and plenty of rain — but this morning everything clicked.
The coaches saw real progress across the group, particularly in tackling technique, rucking intensity and decision-making under pressure. In fact, some of the tackling and breakdown work on display would not have looked out of place on a Thursday night.
There were some standout moments throughout the session:
Liam with a textbook chop tackle
Charlie T absolutely destroying rucks
Ollie pulling off multiple chip-and-chase efforts
Teammate of the Week was Luke, for his outstanding chop tackling and, crucially, for transferring it so well from practice into drills and game-like scenarios. It has been brilliant to see his confidence growing week by week.

James got straight back to his best rugby today despite the recent disruptions!
Very strong on both sides of the ball and always listens well to his coaches. Well done dude!

everyone. Hope you all have a lovely break and look forward to getting stuck in again next year. Really showed instonians the level we can play at today. They couldn’t cope with our skill, defence and aggression. Brilliant to watch.
