🏉 Cooke Mini Rugby Festival 2026 🏉
What a morning at Shaw’s Bridge. The Cooke Mini Rugby Festival is firmly back where it belongs. 💪
With around 380 kids on site, it was brilliant to host Lurgan, Portadown, Rainey and Ophir alongside Cooke for a full morning of mini rugby. The mix of clubs from Belfast, Mid Ulster and the North West gave the day a real energy, different styles, new match ups, and plenty of healthy competition.
Across the pitches there was everything you want to see, confident running, big tackles, support play, and no shortage of tries. From the P1 fun sessions to some very competitive games in the older age groups, there was a great balance of development and enjoyment throughout.
A huge thank you to all the coaches, volunteers, and Mini Makers who made it happen. Managing a festival of that scale is no small task, and the organisation, energy and welcome shown to visiting teams did the club proud.
Days like this are what mini rugby is all about, giving young players the chance to play, learn and enjoy the game in a proper festival setting. A strong platform to build on for the seasons ahead.

Building well off solid performances in recent weeks.
Today he listened to his coaches between games and started moving the ball wider before going into contact which set up a number of tries. He also showed great awareness with some well timed kicks. Keep it up!

P5 TMOW is Spencer, his consistent work rate for all 4 matches was great to see. He ran every ball back with determination and won some crucial rucks… Great work Spencer🙌🤙
Ps A special mention to our new player JJ with one training session under his belt he scored 4 tries in his first tournament 👏👏👏

P3 TMoTW this week is Nicholas! Leading from the front as ever in our games, he brings some pace, passing and an excellent step.
