A misty, cool Saturday morning at Ophir, but nothing dampened the spirit or the rugby. Brilliant fun across the matches, great effort from all the kids and plenty of smiles once the games got going.
Huge thanks to Ophir for the warm welcome and fantastic hospitality – homemade sandwiches, buns and crisps hit the spot perfectly after a busy morning of rugby 👏
Sunday saw our P7s switch gears, training separately at Shaw’s Bridge. A focused tackle technique and confidence session, led superbly by Phil Cartmill, gave the kids time to learn, practise and grow in confidence – a really valuable session.
Big thanks, as ever, to coaches, helpers and parents for making the weekend run so smoothly.

Cooke Minis P7 were treated to an amazing session with Phil Cartmill on Sunday morning.
Phil played and coached Cooke Senior Mens team for several seasons and is currently Head of PE/Rugby at Larne Grammar.
A great opportunity for the kids to hear a new voice and learn from someone with immense rugby and coaching knowledge.
The session focused on chop tackle technique. It was a brilliant learning experience for players and coaches alike.
It was amazing to see the tackle success rate soar in the final practice match – hopefully we can transfer to this match days in the future…
