Cooke Mini Rugby is based at Shaw’s Bridge in South Belfast, as part of Cooke Rugby Football Club. Established in 1910, Cooke RFC is the oldest Rugby club in Belfast, supported by the Ulster Branch of the IRFU.
We play Mini Rugby every Saturday morning, pausing for school holidays, from the end of August to early May.

We have a Mini Rugby team for all of the Primary School age groups, P1 to P7, and excellent coaches who ensure it is great fun, provide support, guidance and introduces kids to the spirit of Rugby in Ulster. P1 and P2 are combined then there are individual teams from P3 through to P7 as mixed boys and girls. Worth noting that it is a no-contact game until P4, where tackling is gently introduced in a controlled manner with careful supervision. Our main aim is fun and exercise, and sharing the great game of rugby with everyone!
Girls welcome!
Budding female players are not at any disadvantage in mini rugby, where speed and agility are more important than strength or physical size. We have many girls across age groups already and are always keen to encourage more to come and join us.

Both coaching and matches are typically on Saturday mornings. Coaching sessions at Shaw’s Bridge Sport Association Belfast run from a 9.30am start on Saturdays, the starting times of matches vary, see the Fixtures list
